Kent Pottery Supplies was created from a genuine love of making and a simple belief that quality ceramics materials should be easier to access, easier to discover and supported by a welcoming community.
We don't just want to supply materials.

Why We Started
Like many makers, we discovered that buying pottery supplies wasn't always easy.
Local choice was limited, delivery charges could quickly become expensive, and it wasn't always possible to see products before buying. Many of the UK's outstanding clay manufacturers, glaze producers and specialist tool makers are located many miles away from the makers who rely on them every day.
As we became more involved in ceramics, we also discovered just how passionate, generous and welcoming the maker community is. Every conversation taught us something new, and every maker seemed willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.
We felt there was an opportunity to help bridge the gap.
Not by replacing the manufacturers and specialist suppliers who create these outstanding products, but by making them more accessible locally while building a friendly community around them.
By bringing those worlds a little closer together, we hope to make buying materials easier, more personal and more enjoyable.
We want Kent Pottery Supplies to be more than somewhere to buy clay, glazes and tools.
We want it to be a place that listens to makers.
A place that grows with its community.
A place where people enjoy visiting, whether they're buying something, looking for inspiration or simply sharing their passion for ceramics.

Rather than being a textbook, we want it to become a growing collection of practical resources, useful references and shared knowledge gathered from trusted manufacturers, experienced makers and the wider ceramics community.
Over time it will include practical guides, downloadable reference sheets, studio tips, firing information and our own The Maker's Reference Series©, designed to provide useful studio references that makers can keep close to their workbench.
